Hi,

It has been suggested by one of the DC Ubuntu LoCo members that we put
in an appearance at BarCamp DC... Details at:

http://dc.ubuntu-us.org/node/23
http://barcampdc3.eventbrite.com/

Said member claims a lot of librarians from the DC Public Library
system will be in attendance, and hence a good opportunity to promote
Open Source at the local government level. Quoting from part of her
message: "Apparently the roadblock is the library system's IT dept -
but since the network is going all Drupal for their website and is
hosting/organizing the DC Barcamp this month, we may be able to
convince them to go Ubuntu."

Note: Though we lean strongly towards Ubuntu, the DC LoCo membership
is largely distribution agnostic. That said, I'd claim that most of
us are very solidly in the Linux camp, and only grudgingly in the open
source on other OS's camp. ;-)
