Open Source for America Marketing Team Minutes - Feb 11, 2010

 

- Google Docs have been setup and population among team members is
underway. Team members were encouraged to send deb.woods at ingres.com
their gmail accounts for access. Google docs will host meeting minutes,
projects and reference materials. Please use this repository to share
information among the group. 

 

- OpensourceforAmerica.org/planet was discussed as a means to be an
aggregator for open source public sector information. The team felt this
was a great way to pull content together. Marc Infield took an action to
update the "How to " tab with instructions on how to get blogs linked
here as well as how to utilize our twitter feeds.

 

- Update on white papers/ success stories - Two papers are currently on
the table to be worked on 

    - Cost Benefits of Open Source in the Public Sector - Drew Jensen
volunteered to help with this paper, David Lopez is also willing to work
on this paper.

    - Use cases of Open Source in the Public Sector - Ken Drachnik
agreed to help work on this paper

 

-Ean Schuessler discussed a new project that he will be working on
shortly - Case Study Database that will link the various success stories
together to help users find relevant case studies.

 

- Events - Brock Edmiston asked the various team members to help connect
us with the relevant marketing resource members from their companies. We
have a limited number of pieces of marketing swag and would like for
individuals to share information about OSfA when they visit these
events. Please let us know if interested in this material. (
