The social networking integration sounds great, but a bit high level. Maybe
some specific proposals, like...

...auto-face/tweet/denting of news?
...using some event scheduling mechanism?

Facebook is great but closed. Lots of functionality, but I'm not sure what
our philosophical stance on using closed systems should be.

Hi,

I've finished upgrading the production server to a much newer version of
OFBiz. You will definitely notice the difference on the back-end. I also
added the mission OSA_ORG role type that was causing the corporate sign up
to break. With those out of the way I thought I would talk about some of the
next items I would like to see us address on the site. Here goes:

- The corporate sign-up should feed into a workflow for investigating
approving the companies. I think this could be mapped onto either the
customer requests system or the lead development system. The lead manager
shows up under SFA and the customer requests, I believe, are in the
workeffort screens. The lead management may be more fleshed out but the
customer requests might give us more flexibility.

- We've had a lot of requests for an event calendar tool. Gunnar and I put
something very limited together by dropping a zimbra calendar into an iframe
at http://opensourceforamerica.org/calendar. I'd like to see us use the
workeffort system in OFBiz to create a user level tool for adding calendar
events and aggregate all those into an official organization calendar.

- The project management tool is greatly improved in the new OFBiz. I would
like to open this system up to the workgroups to start enumerating the items
they want to complete, scheduling them and assigning responsibilities. In
the short term we could just give certain users security privileges to
access the OFBiz backend but I would like to integrate these facilities into
the OSFA branded front end. One option is to use the existing controller and
model but build new views in webslinger, another option is to work on
integrating the OFBiz screen widget with Webslinger (which we have some work
started on) and yet another option is to brand the OFBiz backed pages so
that they look OSFA. I'm rather interested in the last one because it would
give us so much gear so quickly.

- It would be great if we did some OpenID/OpenSocial/Facebook-Connect
integration to streamline integration with other social systems.

So that's a few thoughts. Comments?
