It's actually fairly user-friendly for creating content, actually, and
has some real advantages over Drupal (a platform I also like) in terms
of user management. The only really strong argument I could see in
favor of Drupal would be if there were existing add-on modules we could
really use for our mission. Or, of course, if we get scads of
volunteers who know PHP and have free time. I don't see just swapping
Acquila for Brainfood as being a terrific deal -- Ean's already invested
a lot of time in getting us set up.
So, are there modules we could really use?
If we were considering different platforms, I'd say that we might look
at CiviCRM, which is of course a platform built for political applications.
However, I think it's more important to get routine tasks done (like
writing workgroup pages and configuring mailing lists) than to engage in
a platform port.
