[healthcare-wg] OSFA/Healthcare Working Group

Hi guys,

This looks like a promising initiative.

I am interested in doing what I can. I'll try to join on conference calls. I am at a company called Recombinant Data Corp. We are mainly a clinical data warehouse solution provider taking tools from the NIH for research like i2b2 and caBIG to implement them at AMCs or other institutions but also are working on some other things on the outside of research like MURAL for EMPI, OpenESB for HL7 messaging, Connect for HIEs etc. So hopefully we can help the dialog in some capacity.

Can you (or whoever is scheduling) drop a calendar notice to the list? I may have trouble tracking the calls without one.

Thanks for the background and comments Alex. Looking forward to learning more about Orbeon. I have a bridge number we can use for the call. I'll set that up shortly.

Since I never introduced myself before, I will start with that. I
co-founded Orbeon, and over the last 5 years our focus has been on
building Orbeon Forms, which is an open source product to create web
forms applications. We are a member of the W3C, and our product is
used by health care companies, governments, as well as in other
verticals. I am passionate about technology, how it can improve the
world, and I am thrilled about the OSA initiative.

Now Anthony, getting to your questions, I think having a call once
every two weeks would be good. In my experience Skype doesn't work
very well for conference calls unless you have only 3-4 participants,
as the host has to call every participant, and re-call them if they
drop out, which can be pretty disruptive both at the beginning and
during the meeting. I think using a regular bridge would work better
for this. If we have less than 20 attendees, Yugma
(http://www.yugma.com/) provides a bridge for free.
